Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung!
Spring has sprung!

The beginning of Spring has started off colder and with more snow than usual. We have watched the snow slowly melt to just get a glimpse of our garden beds early last week. To our surprise snow just piled up 8” all over Barnstead yesterday, it’s a good thing that our young plants were safe and warm indoors. We wanted to do an update about the progress in our vegetable nursery, so here are some photos we took today!

As the snow recedes this week we will be seeding bok choy, kohlrabi, & green onions in our nursery. We hope that this late snowfall will actually be the last we see until November. Our goal is to finish constructing the greenhouse and get a cover on it so that the soil can warm up quickly for spring transplants. Inside will be planted with tomatoes, sweet peppers, and cucumbers. We will be moving each plant into a larger size pot next week and therefore it will have enough room to grow until we can get them outdoors. Hurray Spring!
