We are now left with only one farmers market remaining for the season!
I can’t help myself but feel overjoyed for accomplishing the whole summer market season for 2016. I feel really proud and relieved knowing that we’ve fed a ton of families in our communities with our delicious healthful dairy products. I get so excited knowing all of the toxins these families didn’t have to consume by purchasing our dairy not from big industrial dairy operations. I find it really empowering how powerful consumers can be with their money and who they decide to support or not. I don’t think people realize enough how much power their choices as consumers have on the local economy. I believe we will gradually be seeing a shift from huge industrial monoculture operations to small sustainable organic family run farms once people start realizing the disastrous effects these huge farms are having to our planet. After next weekend we will be transitioning to the indoor newmarket farmers market at the community church, right downtown Newmarket. We are excited for this change of environment and we have a good feeling about our customer support still being constant. Lots of locals at the stratham market tell us that during the summer it’s usually chaotic for them to try and get to the market but that in the winter everyone really settles down and shops reibly at the farmers market. Since we are so new at working with dairy goats, this will be our first time trying to milk constantly through the colder months ahead. We are not sure yet how long our goats will give us milk for, but we will be taking it week by week and hoping for the best.
